Job summary

Turner Industries Energy Services in Whiting, IN is seeking experienced welders for maintenance work. The Welder will lay out, fit, and weld fabricated components to assemble structural forms such as tanks, pressure vessels, and pipe systems; position and secure parts, and operate welding equipment.

Applicants must have at least four years of welding experience, pass a weld test, be certified, and comply with safety and drug screening policies.

Qualifications

• High school or equivalent.
• Minimum four (4) years of experience in specified skill.
• Must be able to pass a weld test before being hired.
• Must be certified as a welder.
• Post offer drug / alcohol screen, physical evaluation, and signed acceptance of the company Drug, Alcohol and Contraband Policy.
• Comply with company and client job site safety requirements.
• Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others in the workplace.

Responsibilities

• Selects equipment and plans layout, assembly, and welding.
• Lays out, positions, aligns, and fits components together; bolts, clamps, tacks parts to secure in position for welding.
• Sets up equipment and welds parts; may assemble parts by bolting and riveting.
• May weld pipe such as carbon steel, stainless steel, chrome, etc. by arc, heliarc, gas, TIG, etc.
• May weld pipe, sheet metal, structural steel, brackets, or other materials; may repair products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts.
• May use cutting torch to cut materials and demo existing assemblies; perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction.

We are seeking welders for maintenance work in the Whiting, IN area. The Welder position lays out, fits, and welds fabricated, cast, and forged components to assemble structural forms, such as tanks, pressure vessels, furnace shells, pipe and building and bridge parts. Non-exempt role; Reports to the Foreman; Assigned duties according to specific procedures / work is checked frequently.

• Schedule: 6/10's for 6+ months
• Per diem available

Essential Qualifications

Compensation

Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience.

Physical Involvement
