Job summary

Severfield is seeking a Welder to join the Infrastructure division at our Carnaby, Bridlington site. You will deliver high-quality MIG welds, read welding data sheets, and work to tight production deadlines in a busy environment.

Extensive experience in structural steelwork welding, strong health and safety commitment, and ability to operate heating equipment and overhead cranes are required. NVQ or City & Guilds welding qualifications are preferred. We offer competitive salaries and benefits.

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Welder to join our Infrastructure division, based at our site in Carnaby, Bridlington.

Our Nuclear & Infrastructure division has extensive experience in the specialist, highly regulated nuclear, transport (road and rail), process industries and power and energy sectors. Providing award winning design teams, utilising state-of-the-art design software and Tekla detailing facilities to offer customers value engineering. This gives a mix of proven success along with modern, innovative design and fabrication ideas to be able to provide a quality, specialised service to a growing market. They continue to set the bar high in their highly regulated market!

Vacancy Details

In the Welder position you will play a key role in delivering high-quality structural steelwork, applying your expertise and commitment to safety in a busy, dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Planning welding sequences and delivering high-quality MIG Welds, single and multi-run fillet welds, as well as partial and full penetration butt welds.
• Reading and interpreting welding procedure data sheets and specifications.
• Inspecting and identifying welds using operator ID codes and carrying out repairs when required, all while meeting tight production deadlines.
• Using pre- and post-heating equipment safely and efficiently.

Required Experience

• Extensive experience in structural steelwork welding.
• Skilled in working to recognised fabrication standards with a high level of precision and attention to detail.
• Strong understanding and commitment to health and safety practices.
• Experience in operating heating equipment and overhead cranes safely and effectively.
• Relevant welding qualifications or coding’s in welding (e.g. NVQ, City & Guilds)
