Job summary

Sunbelt Solomon is seeking a skilled welder/fabricator to operate plasma cutters, torches, stud guns, and welders to support fabrication jobs in our Texas facility.

You will safely operate overhead cranes and forklifts; perform Flux core, stick, vertical, overhead, and out-of-position welding; straighten sheet metal; plasma cut; fit parts; and assist in repair work while maintaining internal quality standards.

Qualifications

• Welding experience required.
• Torching experience desired.
• Strong mechanical skills.
• Cooperative attitude with internal/external customers.
• Good safety awareness and conduct.
• A welding test will be required before employment.

Responsibilities

• Operate fabrication tools including plasma, stud gun, and welding equipment.
• Use overhead crane and forklift safely.
• Weld using Flux core, stick, vertical up, overhead, and out-of-position techniques.
• Maintain quality standards and comply with safety policies.
• Contribute to daily/weekly production targets and repair tasks.
• Assist with sheet-metal straightening, plasma cutting, and part fitting.

This position is responsible for using fabrication tools such as plasma, stud gun, and a welder.

• Overhead crane and forklift usage.
• Types of welding include Flux core, stick welding, vertical up welding, overhead welding, out of position, arc gouge.
• Maintains internal quality standards and compliance with all safety factors.
• Complete production output level for the day/week.
• Elevate complex issues such as unusual nameplates and complex testing issues.
• Support monthly operational goals.
• Straightening sheet metal.
• Plasma cutting.
• Fitting parts.
• Repair work.
