Carports Anywhere is seeking a Welder Specialist to perform high-quality MIG, TIG, and stick welding to fabricate carport frames and components. The role demands precision, reading blueprints, and maintaining safety in a fast-paced production setting.

You will set up welding equipment, inspect welds, participate in assembly, and support maintenance, quality control, and documentation while adhering to OSHA standards.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; welding certification preferred.
  • At least 3 years of welding experience (MIG/TIG/Stick).
  • Ability to read blueprints and welding symbols.
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations.

  • Fabrication and Assembly: Cut, shape and join metal parts for carport components.

Position Overview

The Welder Specialist at Carports Anywhere is responsible for performing high-quality welding operations to fabricate and assemble metal structures and components used in the construction of Carports Anywhere related products. This role requires expertise in various welding techniques, precision in executing welds according to specifications, and a strong commitment to maintaining safety and quality standards in a fast-paced production environment.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Welding Operations:
    • Perform MIG, TIG, and stick welding on various metal components, including steel and aluminum, according to blueprints and design specifications.
    • Ensure welds meet the required strength, appearance, and dimensional accuracy standards.
    • Set up welding equipment, including selecting the appropriate welding methods and adjusting machine settings for different materials and thicknesses.
  2. Fabrication and Assembly:
    • Cut, shape, and join metal parts to fabricate carport components, frames, and other structures.
    • Assist in the assembly of welded components into final products, ensuring all parts fit accurately and securely.
  3. Quality Assurance:
    • Inspect welded joints and completed products to ensure they meet quality and safety standards.
    • Perform repairs or rework on defective or substandard welds as necessary.
    • Maintain a clean and organized work area to prevent contamination of welds and ensure a safe working environment.
  4. Equipment Maintenance:
    • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of welding equipment to ensure optimal performance and prevent equipment failure.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve any welding equipment issues to minimize downtime.
  5. Safety Compliance:
    • Adhere to all company safety protocols and OSHA regulations while performing welding operations.
    • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure all safety measures are in place before starting any welding work.
    • Report any safety hazards or incidents to the Shop Manager immediately.
  6. Documentation and Reporting:
    • Maintain accurate records of welding work, including materials used, time spent on each task, and any issues encountered.
    • Provide regular updates to the Shop Manager on production status, welding quality, and any challenges faced.
  7. Collaboration:
    • Work closely with other team members, including fabricators, assemblers, and quality control inspectors, to ensure seamless production and assembly processes.
    • Assist in training new welders or production staff on welding techniques and safety practices as needed.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent; certification in welding or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in welding, with expertise in MIG, TIG, and stick welding techniques.
  • Strong understanding of metal properties, welding processes, and fabrication methods.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality welds.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot welding issues.
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations and the ability to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Ability to lift heavy materials and work in a physically demanding environment.
Work Environment
  • The position requires working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to loud noise, heavy machinery, and potential hazards. Proper protective equipment must be worn at all times.
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
  • Ability to stand, bend, and reach throughout the shift.
