Job summary

Staffmark is hiring a Welder in Springville, AL to support fabricating, joining and repairing metal components. This role requires MIG welding expertise, blueprint reading, and adherence to safety standards in a manufacturing setting.

Pay rate is $21.51 per hour with a 1st shift schedule from 6:00 AM to 2:20 PM, Monday through Friday. Ideal candidates will have at least 1 year MIG welding experience, ability to read blueprints, and familiarity with calipers, tape measures, and weld gauges.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred with welding certification beneficial.
• Minimum 1 year MIG welding experience in manufacturing or industrial setting.
• Ability to read blueprints and follow welding procedures.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and welding procedures.
• Set up welding equipment and select settings based on material specs.
• Perform MIG welding on steel, aluminum, and stainless steel.
• Inspect welds to meet quality standards and specs.
• Operate grinders, cutting torches, and fabrication tools.
• Prepare and assemble welded parts; maintain clean, safe work area.
• Follow safety procedures and wear PPE; collaborate with team to meet goals.

Job Duties

• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding procedures.
• Set up welding equipment and select proper settings based on material specifications.
• Perform MIG welding on steel, aluminum, and stainless steel components.
• Inspect completed welds to ensure quality standards and specifications are met.
• Operate grinders, cutting torches, and other fabrication tools.
• Prepare, finish, and assemble welded parts as needed.
• Perform routine equipment inspections and basic maintenance.
• Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE.
• Work with team members and supervisors to meet production goals.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in manufacturing, fabrication, structural welding, or production environments is preferred.
• Experience using grinders, saws, cutting equipment, and metal fabrication tools is beneficial.
• Knowledge of weld inspection, blueprint interpretation, and quality control procedures is considered an asset.
• Individuals who demonstrate craftsmanship, dependability, and a commitment to continuous improvement are well positioned for success as a Welder.

Physical Capabilities

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and work in welding positions throughout the shift.
• Ability to lift metal components, materials, and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to safely wear welding helmets, gloves, and required personal protective equipment.
• Ability to safely work around welding equipment, sparks, heat, and fabrication machinery while following established safety procedures.
