Job summary

Recology in Sacramento is seeking a Welder to maintain equipment in safe, efficient condition. You will weld and repair, service and rebuild containers, and assist with purchasing new equipment as needed.

Two years of welding/fabrication experience and a trade school background are preferred, and a valid driver’s license is required to operate scale and service vehicles.

Qualifications

• Trade school graduation preferred.
• Two years welding and fabrication experience.
• Waste and recycling industry experience preferred.
• Valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Weld and repair equipment to maintain safe operation.
• Schedule, service and repair equipment and containers used to recycle, dispose and haul waste; weld repairs.
• Rebuild containers, paint decals the new containers, and perform safety inspections.
• Assist management in purchasing new equipment or supplies as required.
• Perform duties safely and in compliance with established protocols.

The Role of the Welder

Responsible for welding and repair in an effort to maintain equipment in safe and effective operating conditions.

• Schedules, maintains, services and repairs of equipment and containers used to recycle, dispose and haul industrial commercial and residential waste, welds repairs of equipment.
• Rebuilds containers that require removal and replacement; paints and decals the new containers; provides systematic safety inspection of containers to established standards.
• Assists management in the purchase of new equipment or supplies as required.
• Performs all duties in a safe manner and in compliance with the established protocols.
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Graduation from a trade school preferred.
• Two years of welding and fabrication experience.
• Waste and recycling industry experience preferred.
• Valid Driver's License required
