Job summary

Chicago Tube and Iron is seeking a Warehouse General for CTI Fab in Romeoville, IL. This full-time role supports welding operations, reads blueprints, and ensures production standards are met in a safe environment.

You will set up welding functions, move equipment, and perform quality fit-ups on various metals, with physical requirements including lifting up to 50 pounds and standing 6–8 hours.

Responsible for meeting or exceeding all welding production standards for all welding processes in a safe manner.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Read and work from blueprints.
• Setup for various welding functions.
• Move equipment and materials to and from workstations.
• Perform quality fit up for welding.
• Weld like metals and dissimilar metals.

Position Requirements:

• Good mechanical aptitude – manufacturing or fabrication experience is a plus.
• Experience in the use of standard shop tools and inspection measuring tools, such as tape measures, calipers, and micrometers.
• Basic math and computer skills.
• Ability to read blueprints/ shop drawings is a plus.
• Ability to sit, stand, and walk throughout work schedule, 6-8 hours per day.
• Ability to regularly maneuver up to 50 pounds.
