Job summary

Lincoln Electric in Reno is seeking a motivated Welder to join our manufacturing team. You will perform MIG, TIG, and Stick welding on steel, stainless steel, and aluminum components, reading blueprints and welding symbols to produce high-quality parts.

This hourly, full-time role requires safety discipline, adherence to 5S, and the ability to operate fabrication tools. Overtime and weekend work may be required to meet production schedules.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED OR equivalent experience.
• Experience in MIG, TIG, or Stick welding.
• Read blueprints, weld symbols, and technical drawings.
• Knowledge of metal fabrication techniques and tools.
• Measure and layout using tape measures and calipers.

Job Responsibilities

We are seeking a motivated Welder to join our manufacturing team. This position is responsible for performing welding, fabrication, and assembly activities related to the production of custom machinery and equipment. The successful candidate will be able to read blueprints, work with a variety of metals, operate fabrication equipment, and consistently produce high-quality work in a safe and efficient manner.

Essential Functions

• Perform MIG, TIG, and/or Stick welding on steel, stainless steel and/or aluminum components
• Fabricate, assemble, and repair metal components and custom machinery according to blueprints and specifications
• Layout, measure, and align parts prior to welding using squares, calipers, and other measuring tools
• Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and work instructions
• Operate fabrication equipment such as grinders, cutting torches, drill presses, and saws
• Inspect completed welds to ensure quality, strength, and conformance to specifications; perform rework as needed
• Maintain welding equipment and tools in safe working condition
• Follow all safety procedures, including proper use of PPE and safe material handling practices
• Assist with equipment assembly, testing, and other production tasks as needed
• Setup and adjust welding equipment according to material type and thickness
• Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with safety and 5S standards
• Complete required documentation accurately and in a timely manner
• Perform general duties as assigned and assist in other areas as workload requires

Job Requirements

Required Skills

• High school diploma/GED OR equivalent experience
• Demonstrated experience in MIG, TIG, or Stick welding
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and technical drawings
• Strong knowledge of metal fabrication techniques and tools
• Ability to perform basic measurements and layout using tools such as tape measures and calipers
• Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
• Ability to lift and manipulate large fabricated components using cranes, hoists, or other material handling equipment
• Uncompromising attitude toward safety, quality, and customer service
• Strong working knowledge of basic hand tools
• Willingness to work overtime and weekends as needed

Preferred Skills

• Welding certification (AWS or equivalent)
• Familiarity with electrical components and wiring
• Experience operating forklifts, cranes, or overhead hoists
• Experience working with custom machinery or industrial equipment
• Previous experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and work in awkward or confined positions for extended periods. The employee must have the ability to maintain steady hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for precision welding tasks. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus, including while wearing a welding helmet.

Work Environment

The work environment is primarily in a manufacturing setting where the employee is regularly exposed to welding-related hazards. These include high heat, sparks, open flames, fumes, airborne particles, and bright light (UV/arc flash). The employee may also be exposed to moving mechanical parts, noise levels that require hearing protection, and temperature fluctuations. Proper personal protective equipment (PPE) is required at all times and may include welding helmets, flame-resistant clothing, gloves, safety glasses, steel-toed boots, and hearing protection. The role may involve working in tight spaces, at varying heights, or in proximity to other employees and operating equipment. Strict adherence to all safety policies and procedures is required.
