Vanguard Truck Centers in Phoenix, AZ is seeking an experienced installer/welder to service truck equipment for municipal, industrial, commercial and private customers.

Responsibilities include installing dump bodies, roll-off hoists, flatbeds, and hydraulic systems, and ensuring welds meet QA standards. The role requires reading ROs/blueprints and following job orders, with training opportunities available.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Three to five years of welding experience (MIG, TIG, Stick).
  • Technical understanding of Class 7 and Class 8 diesel truck chassis.
  • Ability to read chassis specification data and drawings and equipment specs.

Responsibilities

  • Install various truck equipment (dump bodies, roll-off hoists, flatbeds, snow/ice equipment, hydraulic wet kits).
  • Ensure welds meet quality standards and match customer specs.
  • Attend product and technical training as requested by sales manager.
  • Stay up-to-date on new products and services in the industry.
  • Prepare parts (cut, grind, sand).
  • Read, comprehend, and execute ROs and blueprints; follow Job Order procedures.
  • Ensure final product matches orders or bid specs.

Job Location: Norwood Equipment - Phoenix, AZ 85004

Salary Range: $25.00 - $35.00 Hourly

This position is responsible for Installation and repairs of various types of truck equipment to the municipal, industrial, commercial and private industries.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Essential duties include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Installation of various types of truck equipment, including: dump bodies, roll off hoists, flatbeds, snow and ice equipment, hydraulic wet kits, auxiliary axles and other equipment.
  • Ensures that all welds meet quality assurance standards
  • Determines appropriate welds, per customer specifications.
  • Attends product and technical training courses as requested by sales manager.
  • Keeps up-to-date on new products and services within the industry.
  • Prep parts (cut grind, sand etc.)
  • Read, comprehend, and execute ROs and Blueprints
  • Works with supervisor to provide and understand proper Job Order procedures.

And follows up on project accuracy and detail to make sure end product is built to customers’ orders or bid specs.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
  • Basic Computer skills preferred
  • Three to five years of Welding experience in 1 or more of the following: MIG, TIG, Stick
  • Possess a technical understanding of Class 7 and Class 8 diesel truck chassis
  • Must be able to understand chassis specification data and chassis design drawings and dimensions
  • As well as equipment specification data and technical drawings
  • Should have a strong knowledge of Equipment hydraulic applications, air and electrical circuit applications
LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures and manuals. Ability to write reports, and effectively present information and respond to questions from managers and customers

English and or bilingual English/Spanish

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, add, subtract, multiply and divide alone with ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Valid Driver's License/ CDL License preferred
