Job summary

TPI Staffing, Inc. is seeking a Welder for a temp-to-hire role in Pearland, TX. The ideal candidate will perform welding tasks for production and prototypes using TIG and MIG processes, set up fixtures, and follow certification requirements including destructive and non-destructive testing.

Shift is 6am–4pm Mon–Thu with 1 hour lunch; Fri 6am–10am. Pay is $20–$24 per hour. Candidates must pass the 1G open root test and may advance toward 6G proficiency; safety and continuous improvement are

Qualifications

• Experience with TIG and MIG welding on production and prototype parts.
• Ability to read specifications and operate welding fixtures.
• Follows certification requirements including destructive and non-destructive testing.

Responsibilities

• Perform welding tasks to conform with specifications and certification requirements.
• Weld production and prototype pieces in stainless steel and metals using TIG/MIG.
• Set up fixtures and lay out work for production and prototypes.
• Troubleshoot welding issues and adjust parameters with other departments as needed.
• Follow safety guidelines and maintain a clean, organized work area.
• Complete required welding tests (1G open root; potential 6G proficiency in future).

WelderTemp to Hire$20 - $24/hrHours: 6am – 4pm with a 1 hour lunch Mon – Thurs and 6am to 10am on FridayGTAW (TIG) PROCESS PIPE WELDING1 EA V-GROOVE OPEN ROOT S40 316 PIPE TEST REQUIREDMAJOR DUTIES/FUNCTIONS1. Perform welding tasks in the manufacture of products to conform with specifications and certificationrequirements2. Weld production and more difficult prototype instrumentation piece parts in various materials includingstainless steel, precious and semi-precious metals using various types of welding processes which mayinclude TIG and/or MIG3. May operate program welding machine to weld production units4. Set up fixtures and lay out work for production and prototype piece parts5. Trouble shoot problem welding areas6. May train other welders and/or provide welding support to others as needed7. May work with various internal departments to establish welding process parameters8. Welds must pass destructive and non-destructive testing based on certification requirements per individualproduct7. Participate in continuous improvement processes8. Recommend changes to and participate in the review of manufacturing procedures9. Perform daily organization and cleanup of work area10. Follow safety guidelines and report unsafe conditions and incidents to supervision11. Perform work of a miscellaneous nature as requiredWelding Test:• The Test: 1G open root on 3” sch. 80 316ss (Minimum). Must pass X-ray.
