Job summary

FWG Solutions is seeking a skilled Welder to support the U.S. Navy LCAC program on-base in Florida.

The role requires 5–7 years of welding, brazing and metal fabrication experience with aluminum, stainless steel, and related vessels and structures; an active Secret clearance or ability to obtain interim clearance is required. You will perform fit-up, repairs, and inspections, follow safety protocols, and collaborate with maintenance teams.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Active Secret clearance or ability to obtain interim clearance required.
• ANAVSEA welding/brazing qualification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform welding, brazing and metal fabrication on aluminum, stainless steel and related components.
• Support craft repair, fabrication, alterations, depot repair, and production requirements.
• Perform fit-up, repairs, modifications and inspections on metal structures and pressure vessels.
• Apply industry knowledge to projects to ensure successful completion.
• Follow applicable policies, procedures and safety standards.

The Welder is responsible for all welding, brazing and metal fabrication on base in support of the U.S. Navy’s Landing Craft, Air Cushion (LCAC) Amphibious Combat Vehicle (ACV) program on-base.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Perform welding, brazing and metal fabrication for all aluminum, stainless steel, Inconel, piping, pressure vessels, hulls/craft components and structures
• Support craft repair, fabrication, altercations, depot repair, shop and production requirements
• Perform fit-up, repairs, modifications and inspections on all metal structures and pressure vessels
• Ability to take on new assignments with general instructions
• Apply industry knowledge to various programs and projects ensuring successful completion
• Use knowledge of industry standard policies, procedures and practical applications to complete job tasks
• Other duties as related to the business functions of FWG Solutions, as assigned

Education:

• High School Degree Required

Licenses & Certifications:

• Active Secret Security Clearance or ability to obtain an interim clearance required
• ANAVSEA welding/brazing qualification required

Experience:

• Five to seven (5-7) years of experience in similar position
• Experience and knowledge in S9074 familiarity
• Hot work safety knowledge

Skills & Abilities:

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to hold yourself and others accountable on short-term and long-term goals
• Ability to install, assemble, and configure new mechanical or refrigeration systems
• Ability to troubleshoot using diagnostic tools and techniques to identify and fix issues
• Ability to work independently and coordinate with general maintenance staff
• Ability to work with various levels of personnel
• Use of Microsoft Office software applications to include Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Other:

• Ability to work onsite 5 days per week with additional hours, as required
