Job summary

FWG Solutions, Inc. is seeking an experienced Welder to support the Navy LCAC program on-base. Duties include welding, brazing, and fabrication across aluminum, stainless steel and other materials for hulls and components.

You will perform fit-ups, repairs, modifications and inspections while maintaining safety, quality, and schedule adherence in a fast-paced environment. A Secret clearance and ANAVSEA qualification are required.

Qualifications

• High School degree required.
• Active Secret Security Clearance or ability to obtain interim clearance.
• ANAVSEA welding/brazing qualification required.
• 5–7 years of welding/fabrication experience.
• Experience and knowledge in S9074 familiarity.
• Hot work safety knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Perform welding, brazing and metal fabrication for aluminum, stainless steel, Inconel, piping, pressure vessels and hulls/craft components.
• Support craft repair, fabrication, alterations, depot repair and production requirements.
• Perform fit-up, repairs, modifications and inspections on metal structures and pressure vessels.
• Take on new assignments with general instructions.
• Apply industry knowledge to programs ensuring successful completion.
• Adhere to policies, procedures and practical applications to complete tasks.
• Other duties as assigned.

The Welder is responsible for all welding, brazing and metal fabrication on base in support of the U.S. Navy’s Landing Craft, Air Cushion (LCAC) Amphibious Combat Vehicle (ACV) program on-base.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Perform welding, brazing and metal fabrication for all aluminum, stainless steel, Inconel, piping, pressure vessels, hulls/craft components and structures
• Support craft repair, fabrication, altercations, depot repair, shop and production requirements
• Perform fit-up, repairs, modifications and inspections on all metal structures and pressure vessels
• Ability to take on new assignments with general instructions
• Apply industry knowledge to various programs and projects ensuring successful completion
• Use knowledge of industry standard policies, procedures and practical applications to complete job tasks
• Other duties as related to the business functions of FWG Solutions, as assigned

Education:

• High School Degree Required

Licenses & Certifications:

• Active Secret Security Clearance or ability to obtain an interim clearance required
• ANAVSEA welding/brazing qualification required

Experience:

• Five to seven (5-7) years of experience in similar position
• Experience and knowledge in S9074 familiarity
• Hot work safety knowledge

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to hold yourself and others accountable on short-term and long-term goals
• Ability to install, assemble, and configure new mechanical or refrigeration systems
• Ability to troubleshoot using diagnostic tools and techniques to identify and fix issues
• Ability to work independently and coordinate with general maintenance staff
• Ability to work with various levels of personnel
• Use of Microsoft Office software applications to include Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Other:

• Ability to work onsite 5 days per week with additional hours, as required
