Job summary

KLX Energy Services LLC seeks a Welder at its Oklahoma City, OK location. The role involves designing, fabricating, joining and repairing equipment and structures using multiple welding methods. Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 0–2 years work experience.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving history.
• Preferred: Associate’s Degree in Welding; 2–4 years experience in welding.

Responsibilities

• Plans and performs welding assignments including fabrication, maintenance, joining, and cutting of ferrous and nonferrous parts and structures.
• Analyzes plans, drawings, work samples, specifications, and work orders to determine work requirements and sequence of welding assignments; performs gas, arc, brazing, silver soldering, soft soldering on materials such as stainless, aluminum, steel, copper, brass, exotics.
• Operates drill presses, power saws, grinders, lathes, and other welder equipment and hand tools; develops fixtures and selects optimum welding processes.
• Monitors inventory levels; recommends supplies and materials to be ordered.
• Performs related tasks including flame cutting, bending, forming, beveling, notching, template making.
• Performs MIG, TIG, and Stick welding as well as brazing and plasma cutting; pipe fitting.

We are currently seeking a Welder for our Oklahoma City, OK location.

PURPOSE:

Designs, fabricates, joins, and repairs equipment, fixtures, and structures by using various welding techniques.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES:

• Plans and performs welding assignments to include fabrication, maintenance, joining, and cutting of ferrous and nonferrous metal parts and structures using a variety of techniques
• Analyzes plans, drawings, work samples, specifications, and work orders to determine work requirements and sequence of welding assignments; performs a variety of welding processes such as gas, arc, brazing, silver soldering, soft soldering and the like on a limited variety of materials such as stainless, aluminum, steel, copper, brass, exotics, etc
• Performs layout operation, develops fixtures on one-of-a-kind units, and selects optimum welding processes; operates drill presses, power saws, grinders, metal lathes, and other welder equipment and hand tools
• Monitors and report inventory levels; recommends supplies and materials to be ordered
• May perform related work such as flame cutting, bending, forming, beveling notching template making
• Performs MIG, TIF, and Stick welding as well as Brazing (Carbide welding) and plasma cutting
• Pipe fitting

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: High School Diploma/Equivalent

Work Experience: 0-2 years

Related Experience:

• May have experience in lieu of education or any equivalent combination of education and experience
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving history

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Associate's Degree

Degree Field (s): Welding

Work Experience: 2-4 years

Related Experience:

• Previous carbide experience
• Previous carbide experience
• Working knowledge of welding techniques
