General Dynamics Information Technology, Inc. is seeking a Welder, Combination, Maintenance for waterfront shipboard construction and re modernization. You will work in shipyards and drydocks on U.S. Naval ships, in varied temperatures, performing welding, layout, inspection and safety tasks.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED and 1+ years of related experience; US citizenship is required. Some roles may require a Secret security clearance and DBIDS eligibility.

Job Description: Welder, Combination, Maintenance. This is a waterfront shipboard construction and re-modernization position, working within shipyards and drydocks onboard U.S. Naval ships. The incumbent will be working in varying temperatures of high heat in the summer and cold in the winter performing the following tasks:

Contingencies: Satisfaction of all eligibility requirements as dictated by any customer account or business area that you will be supporting. The eligibility requirements for continued employment in this position include, but may not be limited to, obtaining DBIDS, and access to all shipyards. Further information may be provided under separate cover.

• Applies appropriate welding processes to join, surface, fabricate, or repair parts of metal or other materials that require welding.
• Works from blueprints, engineering sketches, charts, or work orders.
• Lays out and marks points on parts or subassemblies using rule, square, scribe or templates.
• Uses measuring instruments and hand tools to position pieces that require welding into jigs, holding fixtures, guides, and steps using measuring instruments and hand tools.
• May inspect completed work for conformance to specifications.
• Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
• Participates in special projects, as required.

• US Citizenship Required Some positions on this contract require a Secret security clearance. GDIT will sponsor qualified candidates who do not currently hold a clearance, subject to the requirements of the position and the applicable clearance process.

The likely hourly rate for this position is between $25.50 - $34.50. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
