Job summary

Lincoln Electric is seeking a skilled welder to join our fabrication team in Michigan. You will weld steel, stainless steel, and aluminum to exact specifications, inspect finished pieces, and ensure fit and alignment per WPS.

Strong reading of drawings and weld symbols is required; safety and quality are top priorities. The role involves clamp/positioning tasks, using overhead cranes, and coordinating with the shop team to meet production schedules.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; welding certification preferred.
  • Experience with GMAW and GTAW welding processes.
  • Ability to read weld symbols and drawings; attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect welds and parts to required standards.
  • Measure components with edges, tapes, scales for proper fit.
  • Weld steel, stainless steel, aluminum as per qualifications and WPS.
  • Clamp, tack-weld, brace, and position components for welding.
  • Maintain safety procedures and comply with regulations.
  • Lift/move materials using overhead cranes/hi-lo.
  • Read drawings and weld symbols; maintain shift documentation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Responsibilities

PRIMARY FUNCTION

Work in coordination with the Manager and other coworkers to ensure that all jobs are welded to the specifications of each job and meets the outlined requirements.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Inspect welds and work pieces to acceptance of the standard they are working to.
  • Measure work pieces with straight edges, tape measure, scale, or templates to ensure proper fit.
  • Weld steel, stainless steel, aluminum, invar or other specified alloys per their qualifications and the applicable WPS, using GMAW and GTAW.
  • Clamping, holding, tack-welding, bracing, grinding or bolting component parts to obtain required configurations and positions for welding.
  • Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
  • Lift or move materials and finished products using overhead cranes / hi-lo
  • Able to read drawings and weld symbols
  • Maintains continuity among work shifts by adhering to required documentation and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
  • Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma/GED, certificate in Machine Tool Technology or equivalent work experience
