Job summary

Talos Engineered Products, LLC is seeking a Welder I to join our Tennessee manufacturing team. You will fabricate and assemble metal structures and equipment, using welders, cutters, shapers, and measuring tools, while prioritizing safety, quality, and on-time delivery.

You will read blueprints and work orders, weld a variety of materials, and maintain a clean, organized workspace. The role includes training entry-level welders and supporting continuous improvement across the welding department.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret measuring tools and blueprints/work orders.
• Safely use welding equipment and PPE.
• Weld on diverse materials (stainless steel, galvanized, hot/cold roll steel).
• Keep work area clean and organized.
• Assist in training entry level Welders and troubleshoot minor equipment issues.
• Direct product and materials through welding to maximize efficiency.
• Follow QC department quality protocols.

About the Role:

A Talos Welder plays a crucial role in the manufacturing process. A Talos welder will be responsible for fabricating and assembling metal structures and equipment through the use of welders, cutters, shapers, and measuring tools. A keen attention to detail and a commitment to safety and quality are essential for this role.

In this role, you will…

Welder I

• Be able to read and understand various measuring tools such as a tape measure, calipers, or micrometers.
• Use all safety PPE required for welding and do so without supervision
• Can show that ability to accurately weld on an assortment of materials as prescribed by the work schedule including but not limited to stainless steel, galvanized, hot roll steel, cold roll steel, etc.
• Able to read and understand blueprints/work orders, to ensure proper components are being used in the product
• Be able to acquire a general understanding of quality expectations and standards
• Keep area clean and orderly
• Able to lift minimum of 50 lbs. repeatedly throughout the shift
• Have a positive attitude everyday as defined by leadership and peers
• Be able to work independently without the direction of others, while producing quality work without defect
• Develop an understanding of the manufacturing process at Talos in regard to the following: How products travel through the plant, Why they travel in the order that they do, how the Welder position affects the process down stream
• Willing to train entry level Welders
• Must be self-motivated
• Be able to trouble shoot minor issue with weld equipment
• Be able to direct product and materials through the welding department for maximum efficiency
• Have an understanding and follow all quality protocols for the department as define by the QC team
