Description
We are excited to be adding a welder to the MAC Trailer Team. Our welder position utilizes and implements acquired welding knowledge, experience, and skill to weld aluminum and steel material and manufacturing parts and products for the tractor trailer industry.
Shift hours: Mon - Thurs 7:00am - 5:30pm with additional overtime.
Wage range: $23.75 - $31.75

What you will do:
Summary
Utilize and implement welding knowledge, experience, and skill to weld aluminum and steel materials and manufacturing parts and products for the tractor trailer industry.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform daily custom build fit/up build welding assignments according to standards of quality and safety in the area(s) of immediate assignment, according to tier level and/or Master Trailer Builder indication.
- Review and interpret specification documentation and drawings while adhering to verbal instruction regarding safe and efficient build of product.
- Communicate areas of concern regarding safety and efficient build of quality product to supervisors/managers.
- Maintain a clean and efficient work area to sustain a safe work environment and awareness of material needs including inventory.
- Use power hand tools (and may operate hand crane) to perform fitting and fabricating operations to prepare materials prior to welding.
- Don and doff required safety equipment depending on department and specific area/duties of assignment (e.g., face shield, weld hood, respirator, filtered face‑piece, weld gloves).
- Organize and restock parts and materials used in the work area.
- Assist in any area of assignment or need to complete the product, including other duties as assigned by supervisor/management (e.g., plumbing, mounting, assembly, wiring).
- May be required to obtain proficiency in steel and/or aluminum MIG welding.

Qualifications, Education, and/or Experience

- Demonstrate the ability to successfully complete the company weld testing process.
- Demonstrate the ability to successfully learn basic math and measurement functions.
- Demonstrate the ability to interpret and understand both verbal and written communication, including production and safety information.
- Work individually or as part of a team.
- Increase product knowledge and skill level related to area of assignment.
- Have aptitude for mechanical proficiency.
- Preferred experience or knowledge in tractor trailer building or service & repair.
- Preferred experience in manufacturing or mechanical related field.
Physical Demands
- Work may involve being in and out of position depending on specific department and area of assignment.
- Require manual dexterity to perform basic job functions, including safety and precise manipulation of objects.
- May be required to lift over 50 lbs. but less than 100 lbs.
- Push and pull with arms and hands tools and material.
- May work from a ladder or heights using fall protection program.
- Exposure to dust and noise typical of industrial environments.
TIER LEVEL
- Tier I: Entry level; under direct supervision while learning skills and duties.
- Tier II: Developed skills; supervised quality checks.
- Tier III: Mastered skills; trains lower-level tiers and works largely independently.
