Job summary

Knife River Corporation is seeking a welder maintenance technician to perform welding and related maintenance across site operations. Typical hours are Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with variations due to weather and demand.

Responsibilities include layout, machinery setup for welding and cutting, tool handling, and strict adherence to safety standards. CDL and own hand tools are preferred. Equal opportunity employer.

ROLE OVERVIEW:

Responsible for performing all welder maintenance operations.

Typical hours are Monday - Friday 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM. Hours may vary depending on weather and customer demand.

DUTIES AND/OR RESPONSIBILITIES (summary of components that make up the job)

1. Perform all welding and related maintenance for all areas.
2. Lay out and arrange parts and different types of fabrication.
3. Set machines to perform all welding operations, including stick welding, aluminum welding, and wire feed welding.
4. Set equipment to perform all cutting operations.
5. Operate a motor vehicle.
6. Enforce safety rules and regulations (Federal, state, local and company policies.)
7. Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS (minimum educational, experience, or other relevant job requirements)

1. Valid driver's license or ability to obtain one required.
2. CDL desirable.
3. Must have own hand tools.
4. Basic knowledge of hand tools, drill presses, grinders, saws, related fabricating, maintenance and safety equipment.
