Job summary

Martin Marietta Materials seeks a Maintenance Welder for Franklin Quarry in Franklinton, NC. The role focuses on safely repairing and maintaining plant equipment, including conveyors, shakers, gearboxes, fixed and mobile equipment, with out-of-position welding when required.

Responsibilities include preventative maintenance, fabrication/installation support, daily inspections, and safe operation of auxiliary equipment. HS diploma and 1 year welding/maintenance experience required.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair and maintain plant equipment, including conveyor systems and gearboxes.
• Perform out-of-position welding and fabrication as needed.
• Ensure preventative maintenance is completed on a timely basis.
• Assist in installation and erection of processing equipment.
• Complete daily pre- and post-inspections of work area.
• Operate other equipment safely as needed ( loaders, haul trucks ).
• Participate in training and mentor co-workers when required.

Job description

Martin Marietta is seeking a Maintenance Welder to join our team. The ideal individual will be safety conscious, dependable, and motivated. This individual will be responsible for safely and efficiently repairing and maintaining plant industrial equipment and machinery. The maintenance welder will be responsible for repairs and maintenance of equipment to include conveyor systems, shakers, gearboxes, fixed plant equipment, and other mobile equipment as necessary.

Franklinton, NC

Hours: Monday - Friday 7:00AM - 5:00PM, weekends as necessary

A typical day for a(n) Maintenance Welder may include:

• Troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining all plant equipment often in out of position welding
• Maximizing performance of equipment by performing repairs and ensuring preventative maintenance is completed on a timely basis
• Performing fabrication, erection of processing equipment and repairs to processing equipment and mobile equipment
• Completing daily pre and post inspection of working area
• Operating other equipment such as loaders and haul trucks in a safe manner as needed
• Aiding in the training of co-workers as needed
• Performing other duties as assigned by supervisor

You may be a good fit if you:

• Possess a High School Diploma, GED or equivalent experience to perform the responsibilities associated with this position
• Have one (1) year of experience in welding and maintenance
