Wabtec is hiring a Welder in Fort Worth, TX, offering a direct hire with pay rate of $34.10 per hour and a 4-day work week (Mon-Thu, 3:15 PM–1:45 AM). Benefits begin on day one, with opportunities to join a skilled welding crew on rail and transportation equipment components.

You will weld to high-quality standards, read blueprints, and follow safety and production procedures. High school diploma or welding program preferred; 1 year welding experience or 3+ years industrial experience required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; welding program preferred.
• 1 year welding experience with a welding program OR 3+ years of industrial/construction welding experience.
• Proficiency in FCAW, SMAW, and GMAW welding processes.
• Experience using wire sizes from .035 to 3/32 solid and flux-cored wire.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and manufacturing instructions.
• Basic computer skills required.

Responsibilities

• Perform welding using FCAW, SMAW, and GMAW processes.
• Complete welds in flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead positions.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and manufacturing specifications.
• Assemble and weld components according to quality standards.
• Inspect work throughout the production process.
• Operate and maintain welding equipment and tools.
• Follow all quality, safety, and production procedures.
• Participate as an in-process inspector to ensure product quality.
• Work to meet production schedules and deadlines.
• Support continuous improvement and safe work practices.

Physical Capabilities

• Lift and move materials weighing up to 40 pounds
• Work from ladders and elevated platforms up to 20 feet high
• Perform repetitive bending, reaching, climbing, and standing throughout the shift
• Wear required PPE including respirators, welding jackets, gloves, welding hoods, hearing protection, and eye protection
• Work in an industrial manufacturing environment while maintaining safe work practices
