Job summary

Beneficial Talent Source is seeking a skilled welder/fabricator to join our production team in Ohio. You will perform production welding, read blueprints, and set up machines for aluminum and other materials.

TIG weld aluminum, GMAW/MIG weld various materials, and perform flux-core welding in multiple orientations. Responsibilities include preparing materials, executing complex layouts, inspecting welds, and troubleshooting fit-up issues.

Qualifications

  • 3–5+ years of welding and fabrication experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Experience setting up welding equipment for different materials.
  • TIG welding experience with aluminum.
  • Strong GMAW/MIG welding experience.
  • Flux-core welding in horizontal and vertical positions.
  • Ability to perform dimensional calculations and layouts.
  • Proficiency with measuring equipment and weld quality inspection.

Responsibilities

  • Perform production welding following standard work and quality procedures.

  • Troubleshoot fit-up problems and suggest fixes.
  • Assist with fixture design and grind welds as needed.

Job description

Pay: $22–$33/hr, based on experience
Schedule: Full-time

This is not a basic welding position. The right person will be comfortable working with different materials and welding processes and will know how to recognize a bad weld, figure out why it happened, and correct it.

What You’ll Do
  • Perform production welding while following standardized work and quality procedures
  • Read and interpret blueprints and welding specifications
  • Set up welding machines for different materials and applications
  • TIG weld aluminum
  • GMAW/MIG weld various materials
  • Perform flux-core welding in horizontal and vertical positions
  • Prepare materials by cutting, grinding, cleaning, and fitting metal
  • Perform complex dimensional layouts, including work completed without fixtures
  • Use measuring equipment including tape measures, calipers, protractors, and laser levels
  • Perform dimensional calculations to ensure parts are built accurately
  • Inspect welds for defects such as porosity, undercut, and other quality issues
  • Repair poor-quality welds and determine the root cause of welding problems
  • Troubleshoot fit-up issues and recommend solutions
  • Assist with fixture design for specific products
  • Grind welds and blend corners as required
  • Provide feedback to supervisors regarding welding processes, quality issues, and potential improvements
  • Work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining production and quality standards
What We’re Looking For
  • 3–5+ years of welding/fabrication experience
  • Strong production welding and fabrication background
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints
  • Experience setting up welding equipment for different materials
  • TIG welding experience with aluminum
  • Strong GMAW/MIG welding experience
  • Flux-core welding experience in both horizontal and vertical positions
  • Ability to perform dimensional calculations and complex layouts
  • Proficiency with common measuring equipment
  • Strong understanding of weld quality and defect identification
  • Ability to troubleshoot weld and fit-up problems and determine root causes
  • Ability to consistently produce accurate, quality work without constant supervision
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship
