Job summary

AmSan-Americas Leading Facility Maintenance Solution Provider is seeking a Welder in Decorah, Iowa. The Welder will be responsible for assembling, fabricating, and repairing metal structures using MIG welding techniques and must interpret blueprints and operate welding machines.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble, fabricate, and repair metal structures and components using welding techniques.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints to plan layouts.
  • Perform various welding techniques and operate grinders and cutters.
  • Assist with inventory management.
  • Operate welding equipment and set up machines based on job requirements.

Job Summary

A Welder is responsible for assembling, fabricating, and repairing metal structures and components using welding techniques. The welder must read and interpret blueprints, operate welding equipment, lift heavy materials, and ensure high quality workmanship while adhering to safety standards.

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, build packets, and measurements to plan layouts.
  • Perform various welding techniques.
  • Set up welding machines based on job requirements.
  • Sourcing of cart with correct materials needed for the project.
  • Operate grinders, cutters, and other tools to prepare metal surfaces.
  • Weld various sizes of products that are either steel or aluminum.
  • Assist with inventory management and logging time spent on projects in the company system.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Proficiency in MIG welding processes.
  • Fabrication and/or welding experience in aluminum or steel.
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination.
  • Basic measurement and math skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality.
  • Ability to work with a team and exercise good judgment in decision making.
  • Physical stamina to handle heavy materials and work in demanding conditions.
  • Skilled in various hand and power tools.
Education & Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 1 year of welding experience.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
  • Work schedule 6:00-4:30 PM Monday-Thursday.
  • Overtime may be required based on production demands.
  • Exposure to high temperatures, sparks, and fumes.
  • Lifting heavy materials up to 50 lbs.
  • Standing for extended periods of time.
  • Requires wearing personal protective equipment.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment, with exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
