Job summary

Meeco Sullivan - The Marina Company is seeking an experienced Welder for our Dahlonega, GA location. The role focuses on welding aluminum parts to blueprint specifications, assembling components, and maintaining safety and quality standards.

Shift differential applies for 2nd shift. Candidates should have 4–5 years of MIG and TIG welding experience with aluminum, strong blueprint literacy, and the ability to read precision measuring devices.

Qualifications

  • Prefer at least 4-5 years of experience working with MIG and TIG welding with aluminum.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Ability to operate precision measuring devices such as calipers, micrometers, protractors, and tape measures.

Responsibilities

  • Welding quality welds according to blueprints and weld symbols; inspect welds for accuracy.
  • Assemble by studying instructions and parts lists; verify fit and specifications.
  • Maintain safe, clean work environment and perform preventive maintenance; operate forklift if trained.

Job Title: Welder Location: Dahlonega, GA Shifts: 2nd ($2/hr shift differential) Hourly Rate: $18 - $22 (relative to experience)

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:
  • Welding Create quality welds according to blueprints (weld symbols). Inspect welds for accuracy. Prepare product to be welded by grinding, drilling, milling, tapping, and cutting aluminum parts. Change wire, welding, as needed. Responsible for the proper packaging, identifying, and moving of all finished products to the proper location. Ensure all equipment is properly set up and used in a safe manner and that all safety devices are in use. Operate forklift, if required and trained. Performs first piece inspections as well as all subsequent inspections as required by Wahoo Docks standards.
  • Assembly Prepares work to be accomplished by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and parts lists, gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials. Positions parts and subassemblies by using templates or reading measurements. Assembles components by examining connections for correct fit, fastening parts and subassemblies. Verifies specifications by measuring completed component. Resolves assembly problems by altering dimensions to meet specifications; notifying supervisor to obtain additional resources.
  • General Keeps equipment operational by completing preventive maintenance requirements; Observes all safety rules and regulations. Must act safely and be responsible for the safety of others around the work area. Following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malformations; calling for repairs. Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations. Maintains supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies. Conserves resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results. Documents actions by completing production and quality forms. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
WORKING CONDITIONS:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to read, count, and write to accurately complete all documentation. This job also requires the use of machines and hand tools necessary for tool fabrication, including lathe, milling machining, band saw, jig saw, drill press, file, grinders, arc welder, brazing unit, and other standard tools. This position requires regular heavy lifting for assembly and repair. This position works in a production environment with the risk of injury. Some safety equipment must be worn when working with equipment in the shop. Bending, lifting, and pushing up to 70 pounds is required.

EXPEREINCE, KNOWLEDGE, AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Position requires good mathematical ability and the ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Position requires the ability to operate precision measuring devices such as calipers, micrometers, protractors, and tape measures.
