Job summary

SA Recycling in Anaheim, CA is looking for a welder to repair fixed equipment, weld new parts for assembly, and build up worn components in a scrap metal recycling setting. You will also repair cracks in mobile equipment and install conduits, fasteners, hooks, and pulleys, plus construct platforms and guardrails for safe operation.

Applicants should have basic math skills, the ability to follow directions, and be able to pass a medical and drug screening.

Qualifications

  • Employees in this position prior to April 2014 are presumed to be qualified and are "grandfathered" into their positions.
  • Must pass a medical physical and drug test
  • Must pass a background check
  • Welding school or certification preferred
  • Previous experience scrap metal recycling a plus
  • Forklift experience a plus

Responsibilities

  • Weld parts of fixed equipment that need repair.
  • Weld new parts for assembly.
  • Build up parts that have worn thin.
  • Repair cracks in mobile equipment such as the boom of a material handler.
  • Install conduit, fasteners, hooks, and pulleys
  • Construct platforms, stairs, catwalks, guardrails, and equipment supports
  • Clean up work area at the end of shift
  • Keep work areas neat and orderly
  • Regular attendance and punctuality are essential job functions
  • Organizing materials to have more effective use of space
  • Dispose of various waste materials in the appropriate manner
  • Inspection to ensure cleanup is completed
  • Effective housekeeping in workplace area is an ongoing operation for safety and better hygienic conditions for all team members.

  • Previous experience scrap metal recycling a plus
  • Forklift experience a plus
