Job summary

Manchester Tank & Equipment in Quincy, IL seeks a dependable welder to read blueprints, set up welding parameters, and assemble tanks and pressure vessels using advanced techniques. You will perform initial inspections, monitor quality with gauges, and follow EHS guidelines while contributing to safety and continuous improvement.

Starting wage is $21.98 per hour, with full benefits and opportunity for growth.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and welding drawings.
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Must attend, complete, and implement required in-house training.

Responsibilities

• Read, interpret, and follow basic blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, weld symbols, and other written instructions or procedures to accurately create equipment and products.
• Set up operational parameters on the machine and monitor. Make corrections as needed.
• Positions, aligns, and fits components using advanced circular welding techniques.
• Welds fabricated, cast, and stamped components to assemble tanks and pressure vessels.
• Performs first inspections to verify setup and quality before production runs.
• Monitor and inspect product quality to identify visual and structural defects, utilizing required gauges and established inspection criteria.
• Utilize handheld tools such as handheld screw guns, drill guns, and grinders.
• Operate calipers, weld gauges, tape measures, and other welding tools.
• Operation of lifting devices as needed.
• Looks for opportunities to get involved in safety, environmental, process changes, and overall improvement efforts.
• Follow all EHS guidelines and applicable procedures.
• Read, understand, and follow the Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and EHS Work Instructions.
• Report any unsafe conditions or incidents in a timely manner to their supervisor or any member of management.
• Shut down the process if unsafe.
• Regular, dependable attendance and punctuality.
