Job summary

ND Defense LLC in West Point, MS, is seeking a Weld Quality Inspector for the Second Shift (6:30 pm - 5:00 am) on a temporary basis from Sept 1 to Dec 31, 2026. The role inspects welds in-process to ensure compliance with customer specs and QA requirements, maintaining inspection notes and records.

Responsibilities include reviewing WPS/PQR/WPQR, completing in-process records, and ensuring AWS/contract criteria are met.

Qualifications

  • Current or previous CWI or CWB Level II preferred but not required.
  • Able to read and interpret welding symbols on weld drawings.
  • 2 years' experience reviewing and interpreting structural steel plans.
  • Proficient with weld inspection tools including weld gauges, NDT equipment, and micrometers.
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in extreme temperatures.

Responsibilities

  • Review welding procedure specifications (WPS) and related records.
  • Complete in-process inspection records and monitor repairs of non-conforming welds.
  • Ensure welds meet customer and AWS/industry acceptance criteria.
  • Develop inspection procedures and coordinate NDT planning.
  • Provide training to welders and inspectors per SRP.
  • Track defect data and report to QA Manager.
  • Verify safety requirements compliance.
  • Review contract requirements and vendor compliance.
