Job summary

Unison, a GE Aerospace company, is seeking a Weld Engineer to provide manufacturing engineering support for weld and braze operations with focus on safety, quality, delivery and cost. You will administer programs, drive qualifications, maintain documentation, and support NADCAP compliance.

You will collaborate with Operations, Quality, Supply Chain and Engineering to implement process improvements, support new product introductions, and lead root-cause investigations for welding issues.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree plus 3+ years in weld engineering or manufacturing, or a high school diploma with 7+ years experience.
• Experience administering weld/braze programs including operator qualifications and certifications.
• Familiarity with NADCAP requirements and non-destructive testing.
• Strong problem solving and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Own and administer weld and braze programs with control and improvement of processes.
• Manage operator qualification, annual assessments, refresher training and welder certifications.
• Perform machine qualifications, weld schedule qualifications, and record-keeping for part qualification.
• Develop and maintain Manufacturing Engineering Procedures and work instructions.
• Provide technical support for welding equipment, tooling, and regulatory compliance.
• Lead troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for weld/braze issues.
• Identify process improvements and cost-out opportunities with cross-functional teams.
• Support new product introductions and production transitions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
