Job summary

Lake Air Products is seeking a Weld Department Lead in Appleton, WI. This full-time, direct-hire role leads welding in a metal fabrication facility and drives KPIs across Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost.

You will coordinate workloads, train staff, and partner with engineering to improve production and quality. The ideal candidate has 2–5+ years of experience leading production in sheet metal, welding expertise, and familiarity with ERP systems (Kinetic) and Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 2-5+ years of experience leading production and employees in the sheet metal industry.
• Must have manufacturing experience in welding.
• Experience with ERP system preferred: Kinetic.
• Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of manufacturing departments in welding in a metal fabrication production facility.
• Influence, track, and hold the team accountable for KPIs including Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost (SQDC).
• Make timely decisions that positively impact production, results, and customer satisfaction.
• Distributes workload to production staff through department leads.
• Train employees on processes and machine set-ups.
• Audit employee time and production efficiencies, coaching for attendance and performance.
• Consult with engineering to modify jobs to improve production and quality.
• Comply with ISO Quality Management System and departmental procedures.

• Experience with ERP system preferred Kinetic but not necessarily
• Microsoft experience: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
