Job summary

The H&K Group, Inc., Pikes Creek Quarry in Hunlock Creek, PA, is seeking a dependable Weighmaster to tally quarry products for production control and to dispatch materials to job sites. You will work with drivers and crews, ensure accurate weights, and help maintain orderly records in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, flexible, with strong communication skills and a practical understanding of MSHA safety policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, or related experience.
• State Weigh Master’s license required.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Basic Microsoft Office skills (Word, Outlook, Excel).
• Able to travel to regional quarries.
• Able to work a flexible schedule.
• Attention to detail.
• Able to fit test and use PPE as needed.
• Able to meet physical requirements (movement, lifting).

Responsibilities

• Performs all work according to MSHA and H&K Safety policies.
• Weighs trucks and issues weigh slips to drivers.
• Keeps track of material totals to different jobs.
• Computes and records totals of tallied figures.
• Examines and sorts items tallied.
• Moves tallied items to storage, shipping, or production areas.
• Takes orders from contractors and private customers for crushed stone.
• Dispatches truck to job sites.
• Communicates with material suppliers, laborers, operators, and supervisors.
• Provides excellent customer service with a positive attitude.
• Keeps track of traffic and weather conditions affecting schedules.
• Monitors petty cash.
• Other duties as assigned

Required Skills, Education, and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent (such as the GED) from an accredited educational institution OR a month of related experience and/or training
  • Equivalent combination of education & experience may be considered
• State Weigh Master’s license
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Basic Microsoft Office skills (Word, Outlook, Excel)
• Able to travel to regional quarries
• Able to work a flexible work schedule
• Attention to detail
• Ability to fit test & utilize appropriate PPE as needed
• Ability to meet physical requirements (movement, lifting, as relevant to job)

Preferred Skills, Education, and Experience

• 3 months of relevant experience and/or training
• Include HS diploma if not called out or alternate experience is listed above
• Any other qualities or certifications that are nice to have but not required
