Job summary

Cemex is seeking a Weighmaster to manage daily scale-house operations, schedule workflows, and deliver excellent customer service. The role reports to plant management and may serve as backup in other areas.

Responsibilities include maintaining records, dispatching deliveries, issuing weigh certificates, coordinating with inspectors, and ensuring safety compliance. Strong knowledge of aggregate products and SAP/Apex is a plus; weekend hours may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Prior experience with aggregate products and dispatching a plus.
• Bilingual English-Spanish a plus.
• Apex and SAP experience, plus Excel skills, are beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Maintain computerized records of material amounts and truck identities.
• Take orders, dispatch aggregate deliveries, and issue weigh certificates.
• Maintain records of license numbers and tare weights.
• Coordinate with inspectors from County and State Weight and Measure.
• Staff yard personnel with the plant manager during high-volume days.
• Monitor inspections and complete scale reports.
• Verify customer account status and assist accounts payable reconciliation.
• Adhere to CEMEX, MSHA, and OSHA safety rules; wear protective equipment.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Job Summary

The Weighmaster is responsible for the daily operations, scheduling and workflow of the scale house, while providing excellent customer service. The work is performed under the distant supervision from the plant manager. The Weighmaster will also act as backup Weighmaster in other areas as needed.

Job Responsibilities

• Major duties include maintaining computerized records of material amounts, truck identities and issuance of weigh certificates in compliance with county and stated regulations
• Taking orders and dispatching aggregate deliveries
• Issue sand/gravel weight certificates and scrap metal weigh certificates
• Maintain record of current license numbers and current tare weights of all trucks
• Interact with County and State inspectors of Dept. of Weight and Measure as well as coordinating any repairs to the scale as requested by Department of Weight and Measure
• Coordinate with plant manager the staffing of yard personnel during high volume days
• Monitor scheduled inspections and complete scale reports
• Verify account status of customers
• Assist credit department by maintaining records that allow reconciliation in the event of discrepancy between customer and accounts payable
• Adhere to all CEMEX, MSHA, and OSHA rules and regulations at all times and wear proper safety equipment while on plant grounds
• Meet or exceed company safety standards
• Perform other job responsibilities as assigned by management

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Prior experience with aggregate products and dispatching a plus
• Apex and SAP computer skills a plus along with Microsoft office products, including Excel
• Ability to work regular workweek including weekends, and hours may vary depending customer needs (including 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts)
• Ability to prioritize and multi task in fast pace environment
• Possess analytical, problem-solving (basic mathematical skills) and organizational skills. Be detail oriented and accurate
• Bilingual (English-Spanish) a plus

Working Conditions

• Continuous exposure to extreme heat, extreme cold, extreme noise, and working outdoors
• Must wear protective equipment while at the location
• Capable to work extended hours as needed

Physical Requirements

• Requires stationary position, traverse, move, transport, and the ability to significant degree to operate, activate, use, prepare, inspect, place, detect, or position
• Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently
• Job involves sitting most of the time, but also involves walking or standing for brief periods of time
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear, in order to communicate to employees/visitors
