Job summary

Weeks Marine is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead a construction project in the NY/NJ region, based out of Cranford, NJ. You will direct project administration, superintendents, and engineers to meet financial and schedule objectives.

The role requires 10+ years in infrastructure/marine construction, a construction-related degree (preferred), and ability to relocate as needed. Opportunity to work across NE US with a strong safety culture and comprehensive benefits.

Responsibilities

• Maintain healthy safety culture and compliance with company safety policy.
• Be responsible for ensuring the project meets or exceeds its financial objectives by overseeing and monitoring each stage of development.
• Coordinate daily/weekly meetings with area superintendents and project engineers to develop means and methods, schedule contracting needs and long lead delivery times.
• Manage all field operations and work sequences in conjunction with the Project Executive.
• Review project estimate or plan to determine estimated job cost, procedures for accomplishing the project, staffing requirements, and resource allocation.
• Oversee monthly job cost updates and quarterly cash flow projections; review, approve, and negotiate change orders.
• Anticipate project needs with lead-time to avoid delays.
• Establish work plan and staffing for each phase; collaborate with HR to manage staff relationships.
• Form and lead an effective project management team; define and delegate management responsibilities; set goals.
• Review and control of work planning process by project team.
• Resolve unexpected technical difficulties and other problems.
• Be an effective leader; communicate with department leads regarding work scopes.
• Ensure project superintendents understand and execute the work as required.
• Ensure safety, quality, and production are maintained.
• Responsible for project closeout; finalize paperwork, retainages, and expedite claims.

Position Overview

The Project Manager is responsible for a construction project's overall direction, completion, and financial outcome. Directs and supervises the work of project administration, project superintendents, and engineers to establish operational priorities and maintain effective relationships with owners, subcontractors, etc.

This position will be based out of our District Home Office in Cranford, NJ. Weeks Marine Construction's projects span across the NE region of the US.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and approve the monthly job cost updates and quarterly cash flow projections. Also, review, approve, and negotiate change orders
• Anticipate project needs with sufficient lead-time to avoid delays of production
• o Establishes work plan and staffing for each phase of the project, works closely with Project Executive and HR team to manage the relationship with staff and craft
• Form and lead an effective project management team, define and delegate management responsibilities, and set goals
• Review and control of work planning process by project team
• Resolve any unexpected technical difficulties and other problems that may arise
• Be an effective leader, communicate with department leads regarding work scopes
• Ensure project superintendents understand and execute the work as required
• Ensure safety, quality, and production are maintained

Responsible for project closeout. Secure loose ends by finishing paperwork, obtaining retainages, supporting supervisors, and expediting claims

Qualifications

• Ability to travel and relocate as needed
• 10+ years' experience in all aspects of managing construction projects with a proven track record of successful outcomes - specifically working in Infrastructure, Bridges, Docks, and Marine.
• An undergraduate degree in construction engineering, construction management, or a related degree is preferred
• Ability to understand project scheduling and cost control, and to read and understand project owner specifications and engineering drawings
• Work independently as well as part of a team

Base Compensation:$157,000/yr -$197,000/yr
