Job summary

Weeks Marine is seeking a Senior Estimator in the Houston area to gather details and compile data to estimate production costs per bid documents. The role requires analyzing plans, conducting site visits, preparing take-offs and budget estimates, and supporting construction means/methods analysis.

You will coordinate with owners, designers, and subcontractors as needed. The Senior Estimator should have 10+ years in heavy civil marine construction and a civil engineering or construction

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
• Proven experience in heavy civil marine construction estimation.
• Proficient use of estimator tools and software.

Position Overview

The Senior Estimator is responsible for gathering details and compiling data to estimate all production costs according to bid documents.

This position will be located in Weeks Construction Houston, TX office.

Responsibilities

• Analyze plans and specifications


• Perform site visit(s) and meets with owners and designers if required


• Prepare take-offs


• Prepare budgetary estimates


• Establishes means and methods of construction and performs engineering analyses to support means and methods


• Prepare costs analysis for certain or all portions of the projects


• Solicit quotes from subcontractors and vendors


• Prepare construction schedule and perform cash-flow analyses


• Close out bids and assist in preparation of supporting documentation


• From time to time, visits projects, and prepares cost analyses

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in Heavy Civil Marine Construction with at least 3 years in estimating preferred


• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Technology/Management required


• Proficient skills in standard computer software packages


• Supervisory experience preferred


• This position requires fluent use of the verbal and written English language
