Job summary

Abraxas Youth and Family Services in South Mountain, PA is seeking a Regular Part Time Service Worker to join our residential program. You will supervise adolescents in a structured setting, support safety, document services, and participate in comprehensive paid training to prepare you for success in our team-oriented environment.

The ideal candidate is dependable, teamwork-minded, and committed to helping others.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Detention unit staff require an associate degree or 60 credit hours.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Valid driver's license.
• TB and drug testing required.
• Background checks (federal/state) must be cleared.
• Able to use computers and required software.

Responsibilities

• Interact with and supervise clients during daily activities while ensuring safety.
• Provide effective people security (headcounts, room checks, movement).
• Observe client behavior and intervene appropriately.
• Process intakes and screen clients per policy.
• Facilitate and document groups/meetings.
• Administer or supervise medication when necessary.
• Follow emergency procedures (evacuation, CPR/first aid).
• Support Abraxas philosophy and Seven Key Principles of care.
• Demonstrate Safe Crisis Management techniques.
