Job summary

i9 Sports in Jessup, MD is seeking a Youth Basketball Instructor & Official for weekend work to teach basic skills and officiate games for ages 3–14.

You will implement drills, supervise practices, ensure safety, and communicate with parents using Connecteam, while helping the program grow. Compensation starts at $18 per hour with pre-season training paid.

Candidates must be 16+, have reliable transportation, pass a background check, and be ready for ongoing weekend commitments.

Qualifications

• Experience coaching or officiating basketball.
• Strong knowledge of basketball rules and gameplay.
• Excellent patience and a positive attitude.
• Outstanding communication with children and adults.

Responsibilities

• Instruct fundamental basketball skills and implement drills with provided practice plans.
• Serve as the official referee for youth games with fair play and professionalism.
• Prioritize safety, supervise groups, and address injuries or concerns promptly.
• Maintain open communication with parents, participants and staff; coordinate schedules via Connecteam.
