Home Work Staffing in West Hartford, CT is seeking a caring, patient weekend caregiver for an 18-year-old son with special needs.

The role is live-out, Saturdays 4:00 PM–9:00 PM and Sundays 11:00 AM–5:00 PM, 11 hours weekly, with G-tube feed assistance and active engagement rather than watchful supervision.

No driving required; mother at home, references required, long-term commitment.

Qualifications

• Experience caring for individuals with special needs strongly preferred.
• G-tube feeding experience preferred, or willingness to be trained.
• Experience with nonverbal individuals a plus.
• Patient, respectful, and engaged caregiving style.
• Available every Saturday and Sunday for a long-term commitment.
• Trustworthy, dependable, and punctual.
• Comfortable working while a parent is home.
• 3-5 professional references.

Responsibilities

• Provide attentive, hands-on weekend care and companionship
• Engage and interact with him throughout the shift, not just supervise
• Assist with G-tube feedings as directed by the family
• Help with daily routines and personal care as needed
• Keep the environment safe and supportive
• Communicate openly with his mother about how the day went
