Job summary

Onyx Care of Bernice is seeking a Weekend Registered Nurse to supervise nursing staff and ensure high-quality resident care. You will direct nursing aides, administer medications, and coordinate with other departments to maintain smooth operations on weekend shifts.

Applicants must hold a Louisiana nursing license and have CPR certification preferred. The role requires weekend availability and a commitment to confidentiality of patient information.

Qualifications

• Current Louisiana Nursing License (Required).
• Current CPR certification (Preferred).
• Weekend rotation every other weekend.

Responsibilities

• Direct the day-to-day functions of the nursing assistants and plan shift services.
• Provide leadership, prepare and administer medications as ordered by physician.
• Admit, transfer and discharge residents and maintain confidentiality of resident care information.
• Develop and maintain rapport with inter-departmental staff to ensure nursing services meet resident needs.
• Monitor staff for safety in use of equipment and supplies.

Responsibilities for Registered Nurse (RN):

• Direct the day-to-day functions of the nursing assistants. Meet with your assigned nursing staff, as well as support personnel, in planning the shift's services, programs and activities.

• Make written & oral reports/recommendations concerning the activities of the shift as required. Admit, transfer and discharge residents as required. Provide leadership to nursing personnel assigned to your unit/shift.

• Prepare & administer medications as ordered by the physician.

• Develop& maintain a good working rapport with inter-departmental personnel, as well as other departments within the facility to ensure that nursing services and activities can be adequately maintained to meet the needs of the residents.

• Monitor your assigned personnel to ensure that they are following established safety regulations in the use of equipment and supplies.

• Maintain confidentiality of all resident care information including protected health information.

Qualifications for Registered Nurse (RN):

Current Louisiana Nursing License (Required)

Current CPR certification (Preferred)

Will be a every other weekend rotation.
