Job summary

Legacy Hospice is seeking a self-motivated Hospice RN Clinical Liaison to strengthen hospital-based outreach, identify referral sources, and educate families about hospice services. This weekend role covers UVA Hospital from Friday to Sunday, 10:00 am to 8:00 pm, with travel as needed within service area.

The RN will leverage clinical expertise and compassionate communication to build relationships with physicians, case managers, and facilities, ensuring outstanding patient and family experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in nursing or health care preferred.
• Holds current unencumbered license as a registered nurse.
• Minimum one year of sales/marketing experience in healthcare.
• One to two years' experience in hospice/palliative marketing strongly preferred.
• Skilled at establishing/maintaining working relationships with key staff and contracts to ensure understanding of Hospice services.
• Proven ability to generate and maintain relationships with physicians and healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities

• Identify primary decision makers and build relationships with medical community and partners.
• Promote hospice care service through regular visits reflecting quality of care and capabilities.
• Help establish hospice as the preferred provider in the service area to grow census.
• Make regular calls to secure referrals and meet goals with physicians, facilities, discharge planners and social workers in hospitals and facilities.
• Assist in determining patient eligibility based on hospice knowledge and training.
• Conduct initial meetings with patient and family to explain hospice philosophy and obtain consents.

The RN Clinical Liaison is primarily responsible for hospital and medical facility-based outreach to identify new referral sources and maintain ongoing relationships that will increase census and preference for hospice services. Registered Nurse Liaisons use their clinical knowledge, empathetic communication skills, and marketing abilities to initiate one-on-one dialogue with referral sources, families, and prospective patients to help explain and educate on hospice services. Our RN Clinical Liaisons are hospice experts and serve as a resource to their referral sources to ensure extraordinary patient and customer service.

This will be Weekend coverage in UVA Hospital. The hours will be Friday - Sunday, 10:00 am to 8:00 pm.

Responsibilities

• Determines primary decision makers and pro-actively builds positive, solid working relationships with members of the medical community and partners.
• Promotes and positions Hospice's patients care service through regular visits in a manner that illustrates and reflects the Hospice's quality of care and unique capabilities.
• Works to build the brand of the hospice as the preferred hospice provider in our service area to achieve and exceed agency goals for growth and census management.
• Makes regular, planned calls to secure new referrals, build census, and meet established goals on new and existing, referring physicians; facilities; case managers discharge planners and social workers in hospitals and skilled nursing facilities; and other health care providers.
• May help Hospice in determining patient eligibility, based on their hospice knowledge and training.
• Conducts initial meeting with the patient and family giving an overview of hospice service and philosophy and obtains consents for care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in nursing or health care preferred.
• Holds current unencumbered license as a registered nurse.
• Minimum one (1) years of sales/marketing experience in healthcare.
• One (1) to two (2) years' experience in hospice/palliative marketing strongly preferred.
• Skilled at establishing/maintaining working relationships with key staff, marketing contracts, and clinical staff to ensure thorough understanding of Hospice services.
• Proven ability to generate and maintain relationships with new and existing accounts including physicians, healthcare professionals, and community agencies.
• Must be willing to drive with reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and auto insurance.

$90,000 - $105,000 per year (Average Pay Range). The pay range listed represents a general guideline for the role and is not a guarantee of the final offer. Compensation will be determined based on the selected candidate's relevant experience and the specific responsibilities of the position. Final compensation rate will be discussed and confirmed at the conclusion of the interview process.
