Job summary

The League for People with Disabilities is seeking a Weekend Respite Camp Counselor to support participants during weekend respite and camp programming. You will provide individualized support, promote independence, and help participants engage in recreation and activities that match their goals and preferences.

This role emphasizes dignity, safety, and teamwork within a welcoming camp environment. Training and supervision are provided to ensure quality, compliant care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred; combination of education and experience considered.
• Previous experience with children, youth, adults, or individuals with disabilities preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized support based on each participant's needs and service plans.
• Promote participant choice, independence, and self-determination.
• Supervise weekend activities, recreation, meals, and programming.
• Maintain safety, boundaries, and professional conduct at all times.
• Document participation and communicate concerns to the Camp Director.
