Job summary

The Phoenix Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is seeking a full-time Respiratory Therapist to join our skilled nursing team in Ridgewood, NY. The role emphasizes geriatric care, independent evaluation and therapy, and adherence to facility protocols.

Responsibilities include bedside treatments, initiating therapies, and maintaining comprehensive documentation. Prior tracheotomy experience and LTC exposure are highly valued. Salary is commensurate with experience and location.

Qualifications

• Graduate of COARC accredited AS or BS Respiratory program. Licensed as RRT or CRT.
• Licensed in the state in which practicing. BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Completes assessments and implements respiratory techniques to manage/readapt patients with respiratory illness or disease.
• Initiate therapies, maintain patient records, operate, check, and assemble equipment.
• Complete a variety of bedside treatments.
• Complete in-services for nursing staff every quarter.
• Responsible for completing daily, weekly and monthly documentation.
• Attend applicable IDT meetings.
• Experience with tracheotomy.
• Experience in a long-term care setting.
• Follow facility procedures and protocols.
• Performs tracking, auditing and caseload management.
