Job summary

Glengariff Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Rye, NY is seeking a dedicated Respiratory Therapist (RT) to join a skilled nursing team on a full-time basis. The RT will assess, treat, and document care for geriatric residents, working independently with periodic supervision and participating in IDT meetings.

The role requires NY licensure and BLS certification, with priority given to prior long-term care experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of COARC accredited AS or BS Respiratory program.
• Licensed as RRT or CRT.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Completes assessments and implements respiratory therapy to treat a variety of respiratory illnesses.
• Initiate therapies, maintain patient records, operate, check, and assemble equipment.
• Complete bedside treatments.
• Provide in-services for nursing staff every quarter.
• Maintain daily, weekly and monthly documentation.
• Attend applicable IDT meetings.
• Experience with tracheotomy.
• Experience in a long-term care setting.
• Follow facility procedures and protocols.
• Complete tracking, auditing and caseload management.
• Perform related duties as required.
