Job summary

Utz Quality Foods is looking to grow our loyal, career driven, and customer focused team, and are currently recruiting for a Relief Fryer/Peeler Operator to join our team of manufacturing professionals in Hanover, PA on our Weekend Day Shift.

Responsibilities include removing waste from the conveyor belt that holds peeled potatoes and trimming defects from all potatoes, plus operating the fryer in relief of the regular operator and carrying out daily and weekly sanitation procedures.

Qualifications

• Experience working in food manufacturing preferred.
• Ability to inspect peeled potatoes and trim defects to ensure quality.
• Familiarity with operating fryers and basic sanitation practices.

Responsibilities

• Inspects peeled potatoes and trims defects to control quality.
• Operates potato chip fryer in relief of the regular operator.
• Carries out daily and weekly sanitation procedures.
• Changes and sets blades.
• Prepares peeler/slicer or frying system for production start-up.
• Operates peeler/slicer system to maintain supply for fryer.
• Reports quality or mechanical problems to the supervisor.
• Works in cross-functional teams with diverse groups.
• Maintains safety and communicates safety issues to supervisor.
• Supports quality and food safety tasks for the position.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
