Job summary

CHRISTUS Spohn Hospital Corpus Christi - Shoreline is seeking a competent nurse to practice independently in a clinical setting. The role involves delivering routine and complex care, with awareness of long-range goals and contingency plans. The nurse will assign tasks and delegate to other care providers to help manage clinical situations.

The position requires a BSN (preferred) and a Texas RN license or compact. BLS is required, with a PRN work schedule and per diem as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (preferred).
• RN license in state of employment or compact.
• BLS required.
• 1 year of experience in the related nursing specialty preferred.

Responsibilities

• Meets expectations of the applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
• Provides nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention and evaluation for assigned patients.
• Addresses increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patient and families in accordance with their level of practice.
• Administers medications and treatments using the appropriate protocol; monitors for side-effects and effectiveness of the treatment prescribed.
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medication, and care given.
• Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members and/or care givers; identify issues and resources.
