Job summary

The Savoy at Fort Lauderdale Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Florida is seeking a full-time Respiratory Therapist (RT) to join our skilled nursing team. The RT will evaluate and treat residents with a passion for geriatric care, hold Florida licensure, and work independently under facility procedures.

Responsibilities include completing assessments, initiating therapies, documenting progress, and participating in IDT meetings. Prior tracheostomy and long-term care experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of COARC accredited AS or BS Respiratory program.
• Licensed as RRT or CRT.
• Licensed in the state of practice; BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Perform assessments and deliver respiratory therapies to rehab patients.
• Initiate and monitor therapies; maintain patient records and equipment.
• Provide bedside treatments and participate in nursing staff in-services.

Schedule

• This will be your standing schedule. We are looking for a RT that can work the following schedule below consistently.
  • 4- 6 hours per shift; maybe up to 8 hours depending on caseload
  • Saturday and Sunday

Respiratory Therapist (RT)

Looking for a full time talented and motivated Respiratory Therapist to join our dynamic team. The position is within a Skilled Nursing facility. Candidate should possess passion for geriatric population, must contain a license in the state of practice, be able to evaluate and treat independently without direct supervision, and posses the desire to perform functional therapeutic activities to assist residents improve in their experience.

Job Description

• Completes assessments and implements respiratory techniques to maintain and progress the rehab patients with many different Respiratory illness/diseases and non respiratory illness.
• Initiate therapies, maintain patient records, operate, check, and assemble equipment
• Complete a variety of bedside treatments
• Complete in-services for nursing staff every quarter
• Responsible for completing daily, weekly and monthly documentation
• Attend applicable IDT meetings
• Experience with tracheotomy
• Experience is a long term care setting
• Follow procedure and protocol of facility
• Completes tracking, auditing and caseload management
• Performs related duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
