Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services in Thornton, CO is seeking a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) for weekend shifts to determine donor eligibility, manage adverse events, review lab results, and notify donors of unsuitable tests.

You’ll work under the Center Manager and Center Physician, support vaccination programs, and maintain compliance with FDA training. RN/NP/PA licensure with CPR/AED and 2 years of clinical experience required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; graduate nursing program with state requirements.
• Current RN/NP/PA licensure in the state of employment.
• Current CPR and AED certification.
• Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
• Complete FDA-approved BioLife Medical Support Specialist training.
• Two years of clinical or hospital experience.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, education, history interview, examination, testing, and SPE review.
• Evaluate donor reactions and manage medical emergencies per SOPs.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for guidance on medical or technical issues.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees where applicable.
• Manage employee incidents and coordinate with occupational health/EHS as needed.
• Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and assist investigations.
