Job summary

Banner Health is seeking an ASCP-eligible Pathologist Assistant in Tucson for weekend coverage. The PA will gross specimens, assist Attending Pathologists, and train residents in gross examination. This role emphasizes collaboration and high-volume handling in a teaching environment.

Qualifications

B.S. degree or higher with CAP science credits.
NAACLS-approved Pathologists' Assistant program completion.
Maintain confidentiality of specimens and findings.
Flexibility to work evenings and weekends on-call.

Responsibilities

Assist with grossing surgical specimens from routine to complex resections.
Educate pathology residents and medical students on gross examination and dissection.
Assist with frozen sections and intra-operative consultations as needed.
Prepare tissue for renal biopsy adequacy evaluation and subsequent diagnosis.
Support tissue selection for tumor banking or research projects.
Provide feedback to staff and maintain instrument readiness according to CAP guidelines.
