Job summary

Pillar Care Continuum is seeking a part-time Direct Support Professional in Livingston, NJ to provide compassionate care for adults with disabilities in residential settings. Responsibilities include assisting with daily living activities, meals, hygiene, and medication administration in a supportive home environment.

You will also help residents engage with family and community, document health and activity updates, and participate in team meetings to ensure high-quality care.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years of age.
• HS Diploma or GED.
• 1-2 years of employment with the same establishment or agency.
• 1 year experience supporting adults/children with developmental disabilities preferred.
• Successful completion of criminal background history and fingerprint examination.
• Valid driver's license with fewer than 4 points.

Responsibilities

• Engages residents in activities of daily living to support independence.
• Monitors health and behavior, documents changes, and reports to supervisor.
• Assists with daily activities including hygiene, meals, and medication administration.
• Contributes to safe transportation to programs, appointments, and activities.
• Prepares written progress notes on medication administration and daily activities.
• Interacts with residents’ family and community to foster engagement.
• Maintains a clean, safe home environment and adheres to policies.
