Job summary

Oceans Behavioral Hospital Greater New Orleans is seeking a Registered Nurse to lead milieu management and direct patient care for adults and seniors dealing with anxiety and depression in a behavioral health setting.

This 12-hour shift role also offers weekend part-time options; you will ensure safe medication administration, thorough documentation, and adherence to Joint Commission standards while supporting a compassionate care team.

Qualifications

• Current, valid RN license to practice in the state of employment.
• Valid Compact licenses are acceptable.
• Minimum of an Associate Degree in Nursing is required.
• One year of inpatient hospital experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead milieu management and direct patient care activities of nursing staff.
• Administer medications as prescribed and provide education on medications.
• Document care and patient progress accurately and thoroughly.
• Maintain professional standards in accordance with policies and Joint Commission requirements.
• Coordinate with the care team and respond to client needs and safety concerns.
• Ensure timely reporting and communication of patient status to the team.
