Job summary

Right at Home Kingwood in Houston, TX is seeking Personal Care Aides to support seniors and adults with disabilities in clients' homes. You will provide daily living assistance, companionship and essential personal care to help clients maintain independence and comfort.

Training is provided; flexible shifts and weekly pay help fit this role into your life. You will join a supportive team dedicated to compassionate service and positive client relationships.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of experience as a Personal Care Assistant (PCA) in health care (in homes or facilities).
• Sympathetic attitude toward care of the sick and ability to handle job demands.
• Reads, writes, speaks and understands English as needed for the job.
• Reliable transportation to/from clients.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) including personal hygiene (toileting, bathing, mouth care, skin and hair), ambulation, eating, dressing, shaving, light housekeeping and other household chores.
• Prepare meals and work safely around a kitchen.
• Provide care with compassion, dignity and respect to clients in their homes.

You don’t have to be a gourmet chef but you can prepare a good meal and work your way around a kitchen.

Must Haves:

• High school degree and/or a G.E.D. certificate
• One year experience as a Personal Care Assistant (PCA) in health care (in homes or facilities)
• Must have a sympathetic attitude toward the care of the sick, and ability to deal effectively with the demands of the job
• Meets the requirements for employees providing direct patient care
• Read, write, speak and understand English as needed for the job
• Reliable transportation to/from clients wherever they call home
