Job summary

Caris HealthCare in Knoxville, TN is seeking a Weekend On Call Registered Nurse Travel RN to provide comprehensive nursing care per physician orders, assess and plan care, and support patients and families. This role requires an active RN license in the state, hospice or home health experience, and comfort with on-call rotations.

Qualifications

• Must be a Registered Nurse licensed in the state of operation.
• Nursing experience required; hospice or home health preferred.
• Sound knowledge of nursing principles and patient/family teaching.

Responsibilities

• Obtains a medical history and assesses the patient’s physical and emotional status, home environment, safety factors, and teaching needs.
• Advocates for patients by explaining rights, procedures, reimbursement, and family involvement in care planning.
• Updates the interdisciplinary care plan every two weeks with correct interventions to meet goals.
• Supervises Hospice Aide/CNA care and evaluates it per guidelines.
• Monitors changes and informs physician/PCC of any updates; participates in PI activities.
• Participates in on-call rotations and provides back-up support as needed.
• Uses automated devices to document in the electronic medical record.
