Job summary

Carilion Clinic in Roanoke, VA, seeks an RN for Child/Adolescent Mental Health, with weekend night shifts (Fri-Sun, 7pm-7am). Full-time position at CRMH Rehab. Sign-on: $25K for experienced RNs or $15K for new grads. Provides patient-centered nursing across ages with collaboration across care teams.

The role emphasizes assessments, care planning, education, and performance improvement within a dynamic facility. Requires VA RN licensure and BLS-HCP.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a State Board of Nursing approved program.
• Current Virginia RN license or eligibility to obtain licensure.
• AHA BLS-HCP certification required; ACLS/PALS/NRP as needed by area.
• Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR).
• Ability to safely manage disruptive or potentially violent patients in Behavioral Health roles.

Responsibilities

• Provides individualized patient care and coordinates care delivery for patients of all ages.
• Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care to achieve optimal outcomes.
• Completes and documents age-specific assessments to support care plans.
• Collaborates with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams to develop and adjust care plans.
• Administers treatments and medications accurately and documents care in EMR.
• Identifies and addresses patient and family education needs.
• Participates in performance improvement and quality initiatives.
• Advocates for patients and supports their rights and psychosocial needs.
• Applies knowledge of growth and development to provide age-appropriate care.
• Demonstrates clinical expertise in dynamic care environments.
• Implements strategies to improve patient outcomes and resource utilization.
• Serves as a role model and supports development of peers and team members.
• Manages resources, prioritizes tasks, and adapts to changing patient care needs.
• Supports orientation and training of new employees.
• Uses problem-solving skills to address patient care and operational challenges.
• Provides feedback and participates in shared decision-making activities.
• Supports education activities within the department.
• Maintains confidentiality and complies with regulatory standards.
